Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About ITR Filing

Who should file an Income Tax Return?

Individuals and entities may need to file an ITR based on income, taxpayer category, specified transactions and other legal conditions. Companies and firms generally have filing obligations, while individuals and HUFs must check the applicable income and transaction-based requirements for the relevant year.

Which ITR form should I use for AY 2026–27?

The correct form depends on taxpayer category, residential status and income sources. For AY 2026–27, ITR-1 to ITR-7 apply under the Income-tax Act, 1961. For example, business or professional income can change eligibility from ITR-1 or ITR-2 to ITR-3 or ITR-4, subject to conditions.

What documents are commonly needed for ITR filing?

Common records include PAN, Aadhaar, bank details, Form 16 where applicable, AIS, TIS, Form 26AS, interest and investment details, capital-gains statements, property or rental information and business or professional records. The exact documents depend on your income sources and filing circumstances.

Can you assist with capital gains and business income?

Yes. We provide filing assistance for applicable capital gains, proprietary business and professional income cases. Relevant transaction statements, books or summaries, tax information and other supporting records are reviewed according to the nature of income and the return form that applies.

Can a return be filed after the original due date?

A return may still be possible after the original due date through the route permitted by the law for that year, such as a belated or updated return where the conditions are satisfied. Additional tax, interest, fee or restrictions may apply, so the facts and applicable time limit should be checked first.

How long does an Income Tax refund take?

There is no single guaranteed refund timeline. Processing depends on successful e-verification, return processing, bank-account validation, mismatches, refund adjustments and whether the return is selected for further review. Refund status can be tracked through the Income Tax e-Filing portal after filing.

Do you provide TDS and TCS compliance services?

Yes. Assistance includes applicable deduction or collection support, tax-deposit assistance, quarterly statement preparation, certificates, corrections and reconciliation. The governing Act and requirements depend on the relevant period, including the transition to the Income Tax Act, 2025 from Tax Year 2026–27.
